day 3 evening at apgujeong (the posh place)

rodeo st is where the yuppies hang aorund but not as fascinating lah..can give it a MISS...less shops than i imagined but more expensive loh...nothing interesting....but more exquisite stuff lah




met my objective of going to apgujeong...the one of the filming site(cafe duchamp) of "my lovely kim sam soon"
heehee...after all the toil of walking fr apgujeong station and landed at the wrong st..due to the outdated map details..i found it...but also accidentally found the cafe mazia (where song hye kyo used to come with her beau)...heehee one stone kills 2 birds.....thanks to the outdated map...i ended up dining 2 cafes tt i wanted to go...a blessing in disguise indeed....these 2 cafes r hidden in back alleys..haha

cafe duchamp is beri posh and all their customers drove cars to dine only pastry and cakes at the cafe....the food cost twice as much as cafe mazia and and cafe pascucci...wow...posh cafe...however the area where they filmed the drama is closed to public....so sad....they provide valet parking too...When i was paying for the bill they asked me whether i drove there then they can get my car for me...haha.....really posh place...if only they can speak gd english then the place will be beri "perfecto"!






At cafe mazia, i ordered their crepe cake..wow a delicate piece of art...many many thin layers of crepe and each layer is spreaded with fresh cream..beri tasty..must eat!..yummy..but though the menu is written in hangeul and english but the staff even the manager dun speak english..so sad....but manage to ask my way to hard rock cafe...the staff even draw out a mini map for me..gd service..but funny leh bing treated like a japanese tourist again...most of the time they`will say sumimasen, arigato....

3rd day at namiseom, gangwon

My 3rd day in korea....so bright and sunny..push forward my trip to namiseom by one day cos i read the weather forecast for the week liao. Okie went to cheonyangni station for my train to gapyeong. So take the subway to cheonyangni and get out of the station and walked towards the back of the shopping centre ..i think is lotte..and there u will see the cross country train station. ticket to gapyeong is cheap ....forgot the exact amt but is less than 5000w. The ride takes abt 1hr 30 mins..with assigned seats...similar to japan rail/shinkansen but at a slower pace lor...but one bad point is there is no tables attached to seat so u cannot place ur food on the table.

okie when u reach gapyeong station..dun bother abt take the bus cos it will take forever to come. just take a cab..all cab runs on meter..abt 3200w (10 mins) to the ferry wharf.
Buy a tix which include the ferry ride to the park and there u go..I arrive at the right timing ...and hence dun need to queue under the sun...i just board the ferry..haha..told u already tt i am blessed throughout the trip...heehee.
and guess wat the ferry has a banner that said "I LOVE SINGAPORE"...



Nami island is only abt 15 mins boat ride from the main land...it is too small to be called an island ..shld be an islet...in a lake..so the water around the islet is very calming..so can do skiing, boat jetting..etc. I can finish combing the area in 1.5 hrs time ..but i taking a stroll and enjoy the scenery and peaceful surroundings....upon arrival there r these cotton woll thingy flying in the air..so romantic..looks like snow flakes to mi....it is an island for the couples ..duh wat am i doing on this lovely dovey island alone!....regret regret...but i tried the kimchi egg rice in the tin box..and u need to shake it well before eating it...the lead actor and actress ..eat it in the drama winter sonata...cost 4000w....and i am eating it alone..weep weep.....but overall it is fun and more flowers and maple leaves ...love it

my belated birthday dinner

I posted this blog is to dedicated it to my buddies; clarol and xiuli...thanks for the birthday treat at the WHARF at yatch club tonight...heehee realli touched..though no birthday cake ( as if i want pple to remember how old I am) but i am really happy...got to share jokes and crap...really gonna miss it. Hope we will have more of this kinda session when Cat returns from UK...I do hope she will return lah...unless she finds a job over there...think we will need to fly there for gathering liao...haiz.

Also need to thanks Limin for the birthday gift...heehee u really know tt I am a crazy gal over topshop products...thanks for being so observant.

Currently, I am in a post-holiday depression mood..so a shopping voucher will definitely perks me up...heehee....still miss my korea....sob sob and i will not forget my japan too...

There is this scene in the movie 백만장자의 첫사랑 tt the gal plucked this plant and blew at it...She said :

" you make a wish and blew at it, ur wish will come true"

...this is different in Japan...in Japan is when u blew at it, ur worries will be blown away too..

I found this plant (yup I took the pic) in Heyri cultural valley http://www.heyri.net. Wow, wat a wonderful trip...I wanted to blow at this plant when i saw it in the movie and yet i can find it everywhere in Heyri...I blew at it.....for my wishes to come true and my worries to part. Sometimes while travelling, I felt I am in a vacuum in my own world enjoying by myself quietly... I wish to detach myself from my worries, betrayal, etc....I dun wanna be used by pple i know. I wish to start afresh in a foreign land...think i can only take short break to escape from reality...

I watched this movie twice on asiana on my way to korea and back to singapore. Still as touching...I hope tt it will come to singapore soon. A slow paced show but beri touching. I was deeply moved by the song "인사" meaning "greeting"

I bought the soundtrack in seoul..heehee. I love and was saddened the part when the guy asked the gal: why do pple close their eyes when they kissed?
the gal answered: becos the couple are deeply mesmerised by each other.
The guy replied: why? I cannot close my eyes cos everytime i close my eyes ...It will make me miss u even more. I will miss u....... ( ths gal is abt to die soon..so he wanna treasure every moment with her and everytime he loses sight of her , he will miss her as if he had lost her...)

I cried when i saw this part....stupid to sob on a plane......but beri touching...so what have your boy say to u lately.....

Day 2 : daejanggum, lotteworld, dongdaemun

I went to the mbc themepark for the filming location of daejanggum at yangjoo. Okie take subway line 1 to uijeongbubukbu and take a bus no.30 on ur side whre the train station is , dun cross the rd... or u can take a taxi but make sure they run on meter. I board the wrong bus so the ah jiun si...asked mi to alight...hence i ended up asking a couple whether they know how to go to daejanggum. Haha...GOD bless! they are also going to the theme park...they are from hong kong. So we shared a taxi to the theme park...hurray! On our way back, we took he bus 30. I overslept and luckily the couple wake me up...heehee...I feel so blessed and protected for this trip. Though I am alone travelling but when I am in doubt or trouble, GOD will always send someone to guide me along the way....May GOD bless this HK couple.

Since The daejanggum park is quite small, I spend abt 2.5hr to 3 hr...strolling. I went to jamsil station for lotteworld cos after 5pm there i a discount for night tix. I thought of buying the special pass of abt 23000w for all rides included ...the day pass is 30000w. but when I got there I only paid 15000w and the person said all the rides will be free after 6pm...wow...heehee saved my money....feel so gd. hence she said I don't have to pay the full amt. The loteworld is fun but still quie small leh...anyway went to sit on the merry go round..the horse which choi ji woo sat on in "stairway to heaven". i didn't really search for that particular horse but i just sat on the horse that is appeal to me...after the ride i went to see the poster of the drama and I found out tt by pure luck the horse I sat on is the horse that ji woo sat on...haha.....lucky me..

after my lotteworld, I went to dongdaemun. Alight at dongdaemun stadium station. There are more street vendors along the st close to the stadium. Wow alot of top quality imitation gds..the fav is the lesportsac. haha now i know why so many koreans carry that bag...cos beri cheap 5000w and it looks exactly like the real one ( 1o times as much). wow the place is madness, stall closes at 5 am and some stalls only open after 12 am. I happened to go to this designer club building where only the wholesaler and purchaser from all over the world come to purchase clothings in bulk..I tried my luck at some stalls, some willing to sell me one piece but some said they only sell in bulk. The price is abt twice or 40% cheaper than the retail mall. wow..shop till 1am then I took a taxi home cos no bus or train service liao.....but the taxi only cost 3000w.

2. a free eyeshadow from house of etrude at myeongdong. Haha..this one is really a free one..cost abt 3000w but the cashier didn't key in the amount..i only realise tt until i reach my guest hse. thanks for the gift!

I celebrated my birthday with 2 pieces of cakes from pascucci: a strawberry cake ( a must have) and a double layer cheese cake...

ehwa women's university and myeondong

Gd news for the ladies....I am planning to visit the palaces but hey were closed on tuesday so I ended up visiting the palace museum....waste of money and time.

So I headed down to ehwa unversity street at ehwa station. Ehm...think the things at ehwa are not any cheaper lor. The shops hmm...not as interesting also. So spend abt 2.5 hrs combing the area. Anyway, I was in luck...maybe it is my birthday haha...I was treated a cup of cola free cos the shop owner compensate me for overcooked my pie. So in the end i had a rebaked pie and a free cola...excellent service..heehee. Later I headed back home to myeongdong for the night. Wow, Lots of things and street vendors..u can eat and shop on the way...love it. And I found my favourite coffee joint, CAFE PASCUCCI (the cafe branch in apgujeong is used as the location for the drama "stairway to heaven") ...The cafe latte (Kappe latte) served there cost 4050w but it is worth theprice cos it is much better than starbuck and coffee beans. the cakes are delicious too...not too cheezy..I am hooked on Pascucci for the next 5 days...2 cuppa and a cake per day.
