i have shifted

I have shifted my blog to
http://verapang.blogspot.com

And also I have confirmed my baptism name to VERA ( saint veronica)

I wanted a more feminine name cos i wanted to reborn again to become a more demure and caring person....I have struggled with colette as my initial baptism name but cos it is very hard to pronunce and don't sound feminine enough...so VERA PANG will be my name for my new beginning. For your information, pls dun cal me jeslin again cos I want to leave my past behind and move on with my new life.....VERA---a more demure and caring woman.

And I love to wear VERA WANG's bridal gown (famous new york designer)

volunteer job @ SGH

Life's looking great lately.

I just realise one of my new yr resolutions: I have joined the " friends of SGH" art and crafts volunteer programme. Just went for my 1st sat volunteer job yesterday.

Scope of our job: we made mini crafts and write some encouraging words like get well soon..etc on the crafts like book marks. Then we went to different wards to give them to the patients and motivate them and talk to them...wow it was interesting and fun but i feel abit up-tight at first cos some of the patients look quite hostile....we experience some funny things too...some of them tot tt we r selling the bookmarks ...communication breakdown here...haha. anyway every sat there will be diff groups and diff crafts will be made and we r haviing a hospital-wide fund raising project in jun/jul. wow looking forward to that.....

I still can't have enuff of it yet...think i may join NUH and KK hospital too. IF U HAVEN"T DO ANYTHING YET >>>think abt volunteering...u will get more than u give....

GOD said LOVE is the most important of all things. We must LOVE our neighbours...isn't it time u show ur love to pple around you especially the less fortunate and the sickly?

Botanical garden

Well, I've been going to our famous botanical garden for 2 consecutive days. Been enjoying the fresh air and greenery and observing weird things tt pple do....

There is a Cafe les Amis at the visitor centre which I strongly recommend cos 1stly, it belongs to the Les Amis chain of restaurants and this one is the more affordable one and their servings are huge. The quality is also justifiable. So try their food if u happened to go to the park for a stroll and animals are also welcome at their cafe.

Observations made during my trips:

1. Boyfriend playing guitar to his girlfriend on grassland( sounds romantic?) ---but what if both are sitting under the sun and the boyfriend's singing sucks and his girlfriend is fanatically fanning herself to death becos of the weather....hmm...dun think it is tt romantic anymore as the girlfriend dun seem to bother abt his singing lor...

2. Doggie poo bag being tied to the dog chain...ya i know the dog shld be responsible to its things/belongings( afterall the poo bag is used to contain his poo lah) but it makes a labordor dog looks cheap and not elegant with a poo bag tied to his chain....

3. Children climbing onto an old tree's branch which is going to break soon....the Nparks pple had to used 2 structurs to support the poor branch from breaking.....

new year resolutions!

Ushering the new year with lots of hope and hopefully LOVE!

okie top on the list of 2007:

1.Get Married! with a fine man ( hard to fit into my category of FINE)

2. Move to Holland Village vicinity or District 9

3. Spend more time on the nature and volunteer work (been going to botanical gdn quite often now..weekly affair. Will volunteer at SGH and KK hospitals too...haha I need more time)

4. Travel to Paris ( just a dream)

5. lose more weight and be a healthy babe

6. Embark on organics regime

7. be a full time housewife.....haha

Holland village and me!

I have been a frequent visitor of Holland Village ( at least once every week). There is one main draw in this enclave tt draws me towards it: My Provence bakery----yummy and freshly baked breads. I always drive there to get my weekly dosage of healthy french wheat bread and I would recommend it's brown rice bread (loaf), choc wassant, milk pan and cheese bun. Eveything is so fresh and aromatic tt all the buns will be grabbed within mins when it is out fr the oven. The shop is frequent by lots of japanese and koreans.

Other than my fav bakery shop, i also frequent one corner fruits stall in the mkt. The boss is super friendly and will let u try their pdts and he is sure to provide fresh and sweet fruits at all times and best of all he knows what u like to eat....haha i am a frequent customer of his stall too...heehee he knows tt i love raspberries and strawberries only. He also know which fruits is rich in what sort of minerals and gd for curing or prevent wat type of illnesses...cool man!

The makan places along the stretch of shophses tt i always go will be TCC, coffeeclub, Starbucks (I hate coffeebeans as their coffee sucks) , Pho vietnamese restaurant(cheap and authentic viet beef noodles), sushi tei and crystal jade. As for ice cream, i prefer GELARE than haagen daz as gelare is less fattening and taste much better than the latter. I have not been stepping in the tt haagen daz shop for donkey yrs liao...i dun really like tt place either. Gelare is more cosy.

I LOVE HOLLAND VILLAGE. my best fren suggested tt i shld moved to stay in holland village since i love the place so much ..but me dun have money..haiz...still looking for a man to buy mi a property in holland village area..I would love to stay in the new condo development : THE URBAN EDGE. So my new year resolution will be to move to holland village...haha pray tt i strike big SWEEP.

Sometimes it feels gd to stay in a closely knitted neighbourhood. HV is like a small town by itself and if u stay around tt area, i am sure u will make more frens than in the typical HDB zone areas....if i have the money, i would rather stay in HV than in orchard...i feel t orchard is too commercialised and the pple there are too rich to even give a damn of what's going on in their surroundings.

The onli thing tt i love abt orchard is the frequent coffee place: Starbucks at Paragon. Whenever i pass by paragon, i will drop by for a low fat latte...haha the staff recognised mi and said tt he saw come by at least once a week. I said cos i frequent the gym in paragon....sometimes it feels gd tt the staff can recognise and even know what u drink...this is called customer service.

I recently had one with one of them at qbar and attica...realli fun nite out and od course when our guys are not around...we got buay yas swimming around us and gunna attack of a few of buay yas.....sickening!

Both of us shared many things in common; we are the only child and both our parents are buddhists...and mi and joanne were touched t the holy spirits when we 1st went to church service. Wow, think GOD brought back together for a gd reason......I am trying to figure the reason out....hmmm

Anyway, Joanne is kind enough to match make mi with her frens...haha.......i felt pity for the guys. My little bears and king kongs...mi is coming to haunt you all...haha

Wacko wedding ideas! & serious gal talks

I met up with 2 other gal frds today..we had a sumptou fish head dinner and chit chat thru out the night at a local hawker centre. ( Feel like HDB taitai...haha..guess it is the "INz" description to use)

I have 3 weddings to attend in OCT, NOV, and DEC.....oh my god, my wallet gonna burn a hole...
ironically, these 3 weddings i going to attend are my classmates' weddings---sec, jjc, nus....

My target is to slim down to wear that dress for the weddings.

Today, we chat abt weddings and think of some of the wacky wedding ideas.

I proposed a GYM Rom...haha with all the macho guys/trainers line up along the aisle and we take our vows in the GYM studio..haha

We even talk abt flying our friends to mauritius for a beach wedding....Hmm..think my dear frd here has to strike alot of toto...

We even came up with ideas of not giving Angbaos but set up a point of sale transaction service terminal whhere our guests can pay their angbaos via VISA or NETS at the entrance of the restaurant/ballroom..haha

I can't wait to settle down! YUp.....I wanna earn back my angbaos. I love the idea of sharing hseworks, coming home early for that someone special, taking care of the other person and at the same being well taken care of too....I love to cook for him...haizzzzzzz

I will leave my happiness to GOD...he will plan a perfect partner for me.
